| The glaswegian accent might be hard to understand for some, but I still recommand to watch this interview with Alex Salmond. This is from a very well known BBC show, HARDtalk. It may sound funny and unfamiliar, but this politician actually answers to the questions asked.
HARDtalk- Are you prepared to shelve your basic demand for a referendum on independance in order to build a workable coallition that can take control of the scottish assembly? A. Salmond- No. I think the result of the election will determine the buildup of the coallition.
Seems the SNP is no longer waiting for the winning conditions. The SNP was many times accused of étapisme by some MSP'S and members. The idea, directly taken from the Parti Québécois, was rejected by many péquistes and led to the fomation of a more outward independance wing, the MES. Seems now the SNP will put concessions second, show off its guts, and have the referendum as its first demand. Good news. |
